he original Zumba® Dance Fitness Group in Palau headed by Miss Marivic de Villa, Zumba dance fitness instructor, celebrated its 6th anniversary last March 30, 2017 at the Maristella Gym together with the group’s loyal members. Most of the original and new members reunited for the said celebration as they danced their fun and exciting Zumba routines for a good and hearty work-out. They also shared dinner with other guests who supported the occasion which included Dr. Glenda Santos-Aguaras who led the prayer of thanksgiving, Mr. Reynante Lobres, Mr. Jello Aguaras, Mr. Steve Galos and Miss Julie Castro, among others. Among the members who were present to witness the special anniversary celebration are the following: Miss Lesly  Adachi, Miss Lolita Ruluked, Miss Wilma Kumangai, Miss Modesta Maruir, Miss Cindy Fritz, Miss Liz Remeliik, Miss Sylvia, Miss Lucy, Miss Josephine  Ulengchong, Miss Hazel Nova, Miss Yeng De Jesus, Miss Malou Andrey, Miss Gina Eberdong, Miss Baby Martin, Miss Zenaida Tan,  Miss Jane, Miss Ginger, Miss Baby, Miss Tess, Dr. Nakano Hirotsugu, Miss Ibibiob Elbung, Miss Mary Ann , Miss Omi and the Palau Royal Resort angels composed of Miss Malou, Miss Lyn, Miss Daisy, and Miss Ley Belba.

The occasion would not have been possible also without the generous support of Mr.  Ronnie Giman, Manager of CTSI Logistics, Palau as well as the members who were not able to attend but extended their support to the event which include Miss Bing del Rosario, Mrs. Miriam Chin, Sgt. Brenda Santos, Miss Ching Hwa Lin, Miss Candy, Miss Mayumi,  Miss Wako, Miss Kiku, Miss Agnes and Miss Sabel.

Zumba® Dance Fitness Group in Palau started in March 30, 2011 with inspiration from the original Zumba dance fitness program created by Colombian dancer and choreographer Alberto “Beto” Perez. It started with just a few members doing Zumba dance routines to increase physical activity to prevent Non-Communicable Diseases like hypertension, stroke, obesity and diabetes. Its goal is to promote physical fitness in a fun and enjoyable manner through its dance routines and foster friendship and camaraderie among its members. [/restrict]
