The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Palau has awarded Taiwan Scholarships to two Ministry of State interns namely Ms. Ianthe Douglas and Adeeshia Tellei on September 5, 2019 for their Master degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy program in Ming Chuan University.
Ms. Ianthe Douglas and Ms. Adeeshia Tellei were Taiwan scholarship recipients in 2014 and had obtained B.A. in International Affairs and Diplomacy in Ming Chuan University in 2019. After graduation, they had opportunities to work in the MOS as interns.
Ms. Ianthe said that the work in the MOS intrigued her. She learned to do administrative work, implement foreign policies and deal with regional/international matters. Ms. Ianthe Douglas and Ms. Adeeshia Tellei said they felt the lack of knowledge when working therefore; they want to further pursue master degree in international affairs and diplomacy.
State Minister Faustina Rehuher-Marugg said Ms. Ianthe Douglas and Ms. Adeeshia Tellei have potential to be diplomats. They are welcome back to apply for positions in the MOS after graduation.
ROC-Taiwan Ambassador to Palau Wallace M.G. Chow said that he is pleased that scholarship recipients come back to Palau to contribute.
Now there are 103 Palauan recipients of Taiwan Scholarships since the program began in 2004.
The ambassador welcomes Palauan students to study programs in Taiwan that Palau needs the most such as medicine, agriculture, mechanics and tourism. (PR)
