Taiwan Embassy donates to PCS Annual Gala on Oct. 11
Koror-Palau,Last Friday September 21, The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) bought a booklet of tickets to Palau Conservation Society’s (PCS) upcoming fundraising gala on Oct. 11.
On hand to receive the $1,500 check from Taiwan Ambassador Wallace M.G. Chow was PCS Board Chairman, Francis Toribiong.
Ambassador Chow expressed the Embassy’s support toward conservation in Palau and his interest in the protection of birds such as the endangered Palau Megapode (Bekai). He shared his encounter with the Bekai habitat and his fascination of how such a small bird can build such a big nest on his recent visit to one of the islands in the north.
The upcoming PCS annual gala on Oct. 11 at Palau Royal Resort (PRR) like the previous galas is a fundraising event. Dollars are fundraised by the sale of tickets and the live auction during the event. All funds raised goes towards protecting endangered and endemic species like the Bekai.
PCS board and staff are grateful for the support of Ambassador Chow and the Embassy of Republic of China (Taiwan). Purchasing tickets ensures a successful gala and brings us much closer to “Healthy Ecosystems for a Healthy Palau”.
