This is a Special Weather Announcement from the *National Emergency
Management Office* in collaboration with the *National Weather Service*. A weak circulation is building up on Southeast to the Southwest of Palau with varying intensities of showers through the weekend and possibly clearing out by Tuesday next week. The circulation is now centered near the Republic with 23 mph winds. [restrict]
*THERE ARE NO TYPHOON WATCHES OR WARNINGS IN EFFECT FOR PALAU AT THIS TIME.*
Showers with gusty winds of 23mph and isolated thunderstorms are expected, and will increase the risk of trees falling and mudslides in the mudslide prone areas in the Republic.
Therefore, the public is advised to take all precautionary measures when driving on the roads during events of heavy showers and be wary of debris on roads. The public is also advised to secure all loose items and boats.
