Sources: Jazz agree to deal with Euroleague star Ekpe Udoh
Euroleague star Ekpe Udoh of Fenerbahce has agreed to a two-year, $6.5 million deal to return to the NBA with the Utah Jazz, league sources told The Vertical.
Udoh led Fenerbahce to the 2017 Euroleague championship and won the Final Four series MVP. The 6-foot-10 Udoh averaged 12.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.2 blocks per game last season, establishing himself as Europe’s best defensive player and focusing on a comeback to the NBA. [restrict]
Udoh was selected out of Baylor by the Golden State Warriors with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft. He averaged four points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in five seasons for Golden State, Milwaukee and the Los Angeles Clippers.
Since losing All-Star Gordon Hayward, the Jazz have retooled by reaching two-year agreements with Udoh, free-agent swingman Thabo Sefolosha and forward Jonas Jerebko.
Udoh, 29, started his Euroleague stint with Fenerbahce in 2015, utilizing an increased role to showcase his abilities. [/restrict]
