In support of the medical services provided by the Ministry of Health (MOH), doctors from the Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital (SKH) will be assisting with orthopedic cases from August to October.
The doctors rotating over the three-month period are Dr. Cheng-Kuang Chen, Dr. Kao-Shang Shih, and Dr. Chi-Chang Lin.
Dr. Chen arrived in Palau on Monday, August 06, 2018. He assisted at the Belau National Hospital for two weeks and conducted a total of 75 visits and three surgeries.
Dr. Shih and Dr. Lin will arrive in September. Dr. Shih is the Chief of the SKH Orthopedics Department and has provided medical consultations for many Palauan patients.
Dr. Lin has been a practicing orthopedic surgeon for over 30 years. The SKH Orthopedic Surgeons will be conducting clinics at the Belau National Hospital every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings.
Shin Kong Hospital is a renowned medical facility in the Republic of China—Taiwan with specialty departments in over 40 medical fields.
Since 2007, SKH has a current partnership with the Belau National Hospital and has provided medical assistance through specialist consultations & missions for over ten years. In addition, the hospital has also donated numerous supplies and medical equipment in order to improve the quality of healthcare provided to the people of Palau.
