A team from the Shin Kong WuHo-Su Memorial Hospital (SKH)is currently on island to check on the status of a medical boat that the group is donating to the Republic of Palau Ministry of Health(MOH).
The boat was upgraded from 250 horse power double engines to 300 horse power double engines. It will allow medical staff from the Belau National Hospital to provide much needed medical services to patients in outlying islands.
The upgraded boat will also allow for faster transportation should an emergency case arise in areas outside of the main islands. The boat is scheduled to be completed and ready for use by October. The SKH Team currently in Palau is led by the Superintendent from Shin Kong Hospital, Mr.Hou Sheng-Mou.
Shin Kong Hospital is a renowned medical facility in the Republic of China—Taiwan with specialty departments in over forty (40) medical fields. Since 2007,SKH has a current partnership with the Belau National Hospital and has provided medical assistance through specialist consultations & missions for over ten years.SKH also conducts the Taiwan Medical Program which is funded by the Republic of China—Taiwan Government.
