Serbian special envoys had visited Palau’s water polo team yesterday, October 3, at the Meyuns Swimming Pool.

Serbian Youth and Sports Minister Vanja Udovicic and Mr. Uros Pribicevic, who served as Serbia President Aleksandar Vučić’s special envoys to Palau, visited Team Palau’s young athletes and played water polo with them.

Sports Minister Udovicic, who is also a three-time Olympic medalists, also taught the team some Water Polo game techniques.

The two special envoys arrived in Palau this week to celebrate with the country on its 25th Independence Day. They had also met with local officials and paid courtesy call to President Tommy Remengesau, Jr. on October 1, Palau’s Independence Day.

Serbia also pledged $600,000 to help with Palau’s hosting of the Our Ocean Conference.

Palau National Olympic Committee (PNOC) Secretary General Baklai Temengil-Chilton, in an interview, said that although the amount will be used to renovate the national gym for the Our Ocean Conference, this will also benefit Palau’s athletes and young people since the facility will be renovated in such a way as to serve youth activities.
