Remengesau accredits Ambassador of Turkey to Palau
On October 1, President Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr. accredited H.E. Hasan Murat
Mercan as the third non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Palau during a presentation of credentials ceremony held at the National Capitol in Ngerulmud, Melekeok.
President Remengesau congratulated Ambassador Mercan of his new Ambassadorial role and further expressed appreciation of his participation in the celebration of Palau’s 24th Independence Day.
Ambassador Mercan expressed commitment to work closely with President Remengesau and the Government of Palau on areas of mutual importance during the course of his tenure. Ambassador Mercan holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Florida and served on various political positions, including as Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Affairs in the Turkish Grand National Assembly during the 23rd term of the Parliament.
