PVA Thanks Sponsors with Pristine Awards
The Palau Visitors Authority welcomed distinguished guests and community and tourism partners to the PRISTINE AWARDS Ceremony on Wednesday, November 30th for an appreciation dinner at the Palau Royal Resort. [restrict]
Held in past years as the final event for Tourism Awareness Week, the Top Sponsor Awards Ceremony recognized the sponsorship provided by our partners in tourism, especially the Palau tour operators, hotels, airlines and community partners that provide services for visiting Familiarization tours and media from Palau’s target markets, as well as PVA’s numerous international and community activities. Their support has continually enabled PVA to perform their duties as the marketing arm of the Republic. This year, with utmost appreciation of this sponsorship, PVA introduced the PRISTINE AWARDS to acknowledge and show appreciation to these partners.
Special guests that attended the awards ceremony included Madame Ambassador Amy Hyatt of the United States, Honorable Senate Vice President Rukebai K. Inabo (representing President of Senate), Senator Philip Reklai, Governors of the sixteen states and State Tourism Representatives, Director Melson Miko of Bureau of Youth, Applied Arts and Career, Director Bouveau Anastacio of the Bureau of Tourism, and the Palau Visitors Authority Board Members.
The evening’s entertainment included a Contemporary Dance Performance by the Sonsorol Dancers. Tamara also performed throughout the evening with Balty on keyboard. In addition, awards were presented to State Leaders and Tourism Representatives, Community Partners, Airlines, Tour Operators, and Hoteliers. The Palau Visitors Authority would also like to thank the Koror State Solid Waste Program for donating award plates made from recycled glass.
Award recipients included United Airlines and Delta Airlines in the Airlines Category. For Accommodations, Palasia Hotel, Palau Royal Resort, Palau Pacific Resort, Palau Plantation Resort. Airai Water Paradise Hotel & Spa, Carp Island Resort, Palau Central Hotel, Aliibamou Carolines Resort and Sea Passion Hotel were acknowledged. Tour Operators that received awards included Rock Island Tour Company, Imperial Palau Corporation, Dolphins Pacific, Belau Tour, Sam’s Tours, and Island Seed. The restaurants which contributed significantly to PVA’s activities included Marina Cafe Vita and Elilai Restaurant. Community Partners included Palau National Communications Corporation, Palau Community College, Surangel & Sons Company, Western Caroline Trading Company, Jezrrae Wear II, Omung Association, Pier 7, Palau Pacific International Tour, Blue Bay Petroleum, IP & E Palau, Eco-Paradise Radio Station, MBTV Station, Palau Tourism & Hospitality School of Excellence, Palau International Coral Reef Center, Tia Belau Newspaper, Island Times Newspaper and the Rubak ra Did ra Ngmatel.
The regular night vendors also were acknowledged, including Belau Tribe, Mad Collection, Daily Harvest Farm, Tin’s Lunch Box, Nanay’s Kitchen, Johaina Eltedui, Wahoo Restaurant, Belau Art Gallery, and Shawarma Corner.
