The Palau Public Utilities Corporation (PPUC) hosted eight Palau High School (PHS) seniors on their 4-month Work-Based Activity Program or Career Practicum which will run from January 14 to May 3, 2019.
These students have expressed interest in various fields and/or careers within PPUC namely leak detection, mechanic, cashier, accounting, and data entry. On Friday January 11th, five of these students were able to attend a meet and greet with their respective department managers and get a brief overview of the company by HR Assistant Mariah Okada.
The names of the students and department assignments are as follows: Geno Kinto and Richie Insencio—Water Operations; Kimorah Allen—Power Distribution Department (PDD); Lender Tebei—Wastewater Operations; Malaki Sumor—Malakal Power Plant; Joyah Ngiraiwet— Business Office; Camille Parinas—Human Resource; and Daisy Lemei—Procurement. They report to work on Monday January 14, 2019.
PPUC continues to support educational and career developmental programs in hopes of attracting young Palauans to join the PPUC workforce. We thank the 8 students for choosing PPUC as their career host and wish them luck throughout their internship. (PR)
