PICRC bids farewell to four Career Practicum Program Interns
Palau High School (PHS) seniors, Ms. Fran Jean Dilungil Shiro, Ms. Chelsea Bekelatk Daniel, Ms. Michella Deureng Mutok and Ms. Briana Jade D.N. Takada have completed their internship with the Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC). These four students began their internship in January as part of the PHS Career Practicum Program. During their three months interning with PICRC, the students assisted in the aquarium, worked in the gift shop, and contributed to Communications and Outreach and the Development Office. [/restrict]
To conclude their internship Ms. Shiro, Ms. Daniel, Ms. Mutok and Ms. Takada put together a movie to share their experience and thank the staff. “Based on our experiences, we have learned about teamwork and cooperation”, the girls expressed in their video. “This will be an unforgettable memory we will hold dear as we embark on our journey.”
PICRC recognizes the importance of internship programs. For students preparing to start the next phase of their life, internships help prepare them. Through the internship program, interns are able to gain valuable work experience. PICRC hosts interns throughout the year, to give them needed job experience, and to help inform them on what paths they may want to follow.
PICRC is deeply grateful for these students’ commitment and hard work overthe past three months. We will miss their contagious energy and spirit, and we wish them luck as they embark on their journey. [/restrict]
