With the Peleliu State’s 13th General Election only a few days ahead, Peleliu Delegate Jonathan Isechal said that he trusts that the state voters will choose a candidate that will do good for the people.
Isechal, however, hinted during an interview with Island Times his support for incumbent Peleliu Governor Temmy Shmull who is running for the same post for the third time.
“I think this governor has shown that he is a teamplayer -Governor Shmull – that he is inclusive. He consults the traditional leaders, the state legislatures, the women, and men’s traditional groups, the Rubak, the Chiefs and then their counterpart, the Meches and so things have been done in a more inclusive way by this governor,” Isechal said.
Shmull is vying for the same post versus former Peleliu Governor Jackson Ngiraingas.
Ngiraingas’ supporters also aired their support for him through the social media and described him as a man who loves his state and will even sell “his soul to the devil for the sake of his people.”
Meanwhile, Isechal emphasized that at the end of the day, it will be the people of the state who will decide whoever they want for the position.
