A Palauan traditional meeting house locally called as Bai will be built on Saipan’s Capital Hill and is eyed for completion before 2020.

President Tommy Remengesau, Jr., during his visit to Saipan to attend the inauguration of Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) Governor Ralph Torres, also took the time to visit the site on January 12 along with other Palauan delegations and members of the Saipan Belau Bai Project Committee.

In a report by the Marianas Variety, it was stated that President Remengesau also met with Palauans living in Saipan. He also attended the Ngaraard State Constitution Day celebration held on the same day at the Minachom Atdao Pavilion.

Remengesau was also quoted in saying that Palauans should help CNMI’s local residents in building a “better community for everyone.” (Rhealyn C. Pojas)
