Palau to host premier regional forum
Palau is set to host a premier regional meeting of finance and economic ministers from around the region, the Forum Economic Ministerial Meeting from April 25th to 27th.
Over 100 attendees and staffs are expected at this meeting and Minister of Finance Elbuchel Sadang asked that the community extends Palauan hospitality to our specials guests during their stay in Palau.
The event will be attended not only by the Finance and Economics ministers but for the first time Australia will attend represented by the Assistant Minister for Pacific Foreign Affairs and the Australian Ambassador.
Also represented will be private donors, civil society groups and CROP agencies including representatives of multilateral development banks and UNDP.
The key issue to be addressed is how to strengthen the Blue Pacific Resilience as nations, looking at strengthening governance and financing mechanism in order to access climate change funds.
The conference will be held at the Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC) and the
meeting will be chaired by Forum’s minister, Minister Elbuchel Sadang, of Palau’s Ministry of Finance.
Outcomes of this forum will be shared with public after the meetings on April 27th. (L.N. Reklai/Editor)
