Ngeremlengui inaugurates its 10th governmentWomen in top 3 positions of leadership

Another historical first was achieved by the 10th Ngeremlengui State Government on January 11, 2020.  At the State Swearing in and Inaugural ceremony, three (3) women took oaths of office to the top three leadership positions in the State.

Governor Ilolang Mary Frances Remengesau took her oath for another term as a governor.  In addition, Ms. Ebil Tebelak became the Speaker of the State Legislature and Elvira Franz became the Vice Speaker.  This is the first time that these three offices in the same state government in Palau are filled by women at the time time.

Marvin  Bitlaol Wasisang took an oath as the Floor Leader of Ngeremlengui’s 10th Legislature.

The ceremony was packed with citizens of Ngeremlengui as well as national government officials, elected leaders and other State governments representatives.

President Tommy E. Remengesau Jr. gave special remarks and Ngeremlengui Elementary School Students sang the national anthem and their state anthem to mark the occasion. (Kerdeu Uong)
