More than 25 officers deployed in the streets of Koror for the holidays

  21 Dec 2018

The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) had started deploying more than 25 officers from all its bureaus and divisions to strengthen security watch for the holidays.

In an interview with Island Times yesterday, Public Safety Director Aloysius Alonz said that more officers were deployed starting yesterday evening, December 20, and the same tight security operation will apply until January 7.

Marked and unmarked police cars will be utilized to conduct patrols and go after minors who will be found roaming beyond curfew hour including those who will be found drinking alcohol in public places.

Heavy foot patrols are expected in Koror and Airai and also in areas under the watch of the police substations.

“We are not scaring the public with this. We just want to make them safe and enjoy the holiday,” Alonz said. (Rhealyn C. Pojas)
