The Ministry of Health (MOH) conducted a Basic Life Support Training (BLS Training) for its medical staff on October 4.
Participants of the training were Jayme Demei, Terepkul Ngiraingas, Rufina Takashi, Jenny Jonas, Jeffrey Balagat, Lorraine Beketaut, Rachel Arurang, Belinda Eungel, Katelynn Masters, and Tzun K. Rafael. Instructors for the class were Nurse Amos Solomon and Nurse Jocelyne Tonyokwe. The training was conducted at the Medical Library of the Belau National Hospital.
BLS training reinforces the understanding of how to promptly recognize life-threatening emergencies, give high quality chest compression, deliver appropriate ventilation, and provide early use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Methods of instruction included video footage and hands-on practice on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Manikins. (PR)
