Melekeok State government renovates summerhouse at Ernguul Park

The Melekeok State government officials and some volunteers had taken the first move to renovate the state’s summerhouse at Ernguul Park on Saturday, October 20, hoping this will encourage others also to do the same.

Ngerubesang Men’s Club President Jefferson Thomas, one of the people who volunteered to help the state government with the renovation, said that the renovated structure will serve as a designated area for the people of Melekeok during night market and other functions.

According to Thomas, the roofs of some summerhouses at the park are already running down so they hope that by starting to fix theirs, others will follow suit.

Thomas said that they are going to add some more details on the structure such as drawings depicting traditional art.

Melekeok State Governor Henaro Polloi and members of the state legislature were also present to help in the renovation. (Rhealyn C. Pojas)
