Koror, Palau: (September 09, 2019) – The Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs (MCCA) announced the appointment of Mr. Keizy Shiro as the new Chief of the Division of Ageing effective August 19, 2019.
In his new role, Shiro will oversee the management of services and programs under the Division of Ageing. The position will be responsible for all operations including transportation services, recreational activities, meal program, and employment program for our elderly community. The position will additionally support the development of aging strategies and policies in line with national priorities.
Mr. Shiro comes to the Ministry after serving 19 years with the Ministry of Education
where he worked as an Evaluation Specialist conducting a wide range of work on data analysis to technical report writing. Shiro brings to this position significant experience in operational initiatives including a background in data analysis which will support the Bureau’s disability and gender initiatives.
“I am excited to serve in this new position and for the opportunity to work with the public and private sectors, and our local communities and to enhance our services for our growing elderly population,” said Shiro.
The Bureau of Ageing, Disability and Gender (BADG) is a national agency, under the Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs (MCCA), that gathers and analyzes information to assist in the overall analysis and formulation of national policies and strategies specific to the Ministry. Its mission is to direct and coordinate efforts in addressing the welfare of the community, in particular, the elderly, the disabled and gender related challenges.
