Korean TV show receives high rating in episode featuring Palau

A popular Korean TV show, The Fishermen and The City, aired its 71st episode on January 10 featuring Palau and had earned a higher national TV rating compare to its prior episode.

The episode, which run for almost two hours, was set in famous Rock Island sites and the Bai Ra Rengara Irrai (Airai’s traditional meeting house), garnering a nationwide rating of 4.048% as opposed to the 3.924% rating of its previous episode set in Jeju province according to Nielsen Korea’s ratings.

The show, which is aired every Thursday in Korea’s Channel A, placed 4th in the national viewership ranking when it aired the episode about Palau.

The episode followed the fishing journey of hosts Lee Deok-hwa, actor and Lee Kyung-Kyu, actor and comedian, with the special guesting of Korean actress Kim Sae-ron and Japanese mixed martial artist and judoka Yoshihiro Akiyama who is also known in the Korean name Choo Sung Hoon.

Palauans even appeared in the show interacting with the celebrities. The show showed the country’s pristine environment and rich ocean resources.
