King’s probation revoked, jail time reinstated

August 14, 2017 (Koror, Palau) Court yesterday, revoked probation and remanded Rayson King, defendant in a drug trafficking case, to serve his one year jail term less time already served for violations of his probation. [restrict]

Mr. King was convicted of drug possession in August of 2016. He was sentenced to one year imprisonment which was suspended subject to certain conditions such as undergoing recommended drug treatment and undergoing random drug testing.

According to Order Revoking Probation, Mr. King had violated conditions of his probation. The Court executed 14 days of his suspended sentence for violating his parole conditions. This too was suspended in lieu of defendant attending an off-island Residential Treatment Care Center in the Philippines.

Defendant failed to complete KAYA Rehab Center’s six-week treatment program and failed to undergo drug testing since his return to Palau.

Defendant probation is revoked and he is remanded to Koror Jail to serve the one-year term of imprisonment. [/restrict]
