Kevin Bennardo Accepts Presidential Appointment as Part-Time Associate Justice of the Appellate Division of the Palau Supreme Court
On February 23, 2017, Mr. Kevin Bennardo, Clinical Associate Professor of Law at the University of North Carolina’s School of Law officially accepted his appointment by President Tommy E. Remengesau’s Jr. to serve as a part-time Associate Justice of the Appellate Division of the Palau Supreme Court. [restrict]
“In view of your impressive academic credentials, knowledge of the Palau Constitution, and history as a Court Counsel to the Palau Supreme Court, I am confident that you will be a true asset to the highest court in our judiciary,” stated President Remengesau in his appointment letter.
As a law professor and a state employee in the State of North Carolina Mr. Bennardo found no conflict with his appointment to the Palau Supreme Court thereby conveying his acceptance of the President’s appointment. He further expressed his eagerness to serve the people of Palau.
Prior to his academic career, Mr. Bennardo held positions at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Mr. Bennardo received his Juris Doctor degree from Ohio State University and his Bachelor’s Degree from Miami University. [/restrict]
