Two new Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Senior volunteers have been dispatched to Palau recently.

Yoshio Noguchi, who specializes in road maintenance, has been deployed to the Bureau of Public Works.  He will work to develop a better road/bridge maintenance plan and identify all failure of the road and bridge infrastructures and push for necessary repair; and implement concrete and asphalt pavement mix design for road bonding including settlements. Meanwhile, Sonomi Shirasaki, is a short-term volunteer who will be sharing her art in glass blowing at the Koror State Recycling Center.

As a short-term Volunteer she will enhance the skills of her counterparts to be followed hopefully by future long-term volunteers in other handicraft skills for the promotion of recycling glass.(PR) [/restrict]
