Japanese professor donates valuable photos to museum
September 22, 2016 (Koror) Valuable photos of Bai ra Meketii taken by a famous Japanese photographer in 1939, were donated today to the Belau National Museum.
The photos were found by Professor Shinichi Uehara of the Graduate School Kokushikan University in Tokyo, Japan. The photos were taken by TAKEUCHI, Hiromasa, a famous photographer in 1930’s Japan. [restrict]
The old photographs shows two (2) bai standing side by side Meketii stone platform where the former office of Koror State used to be.
Professor Uehara has been coming to Palau for many years and is a good friend of Delegate Jonathan Isechal. He, along with Delegate Isechal presented the photographs to Ms. Pia Morei of Belau National Museum. [/restrict]
