Japan invites Palau for Women Political Leaders Summit

The House of Representatives of Japan has invited a delegation of Palauan female parliamentarians to participate in Women Political Leaders (WPL) Summit 2019 to be held on 25th to 27th of June.

The responsibility to set up a delegation of maximum three female parliamentarians lies with President of Senate HokkonsBaules.

The three day summit will be hosted in Tokyo by House of Representatives of Japan and WPL which is a worldwide network of female politicians.

This is the first WPL Summit to be held in East Asia. The summit with its wide selection of speakers and interactive discussions provides a space for dialogues that reflects the influence of female decision makers in today’s world.

The goal of the event is to highlight the women empowerment and potential by proving a forum for exchange on practices of leadership, legislation and political agenda setting around the globe.

Japan is hosting G20 summit this year which according to the G20 official site is formally known as the Summit on Financial Markets and the World Economy. The G20 summit is on the 28th and 29th of June which is soon after the WPL. (By Eshan Kalyanikar)
