Japan awards scholarship grant to young Palauan
Another Palauan is a recipient of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) scholarship program of the Japanese government this year.
The Embassy of Japan in Palau announced on January 30 that Desiree Seid was chosen as the recipient of the MEXT’s Post-Graduate Research program which offered opportunity to pursue studies at the Graduate School of Business and Finance at the Waseda University in Japan from April 2018 to March 2020. The grant covers round trip air ticket, tuition, and monthly stipend.
Ambassador Toshiyuki Yamada had personally congratulated Seid during the pre-departure orientation conducted by the Embassy of Japan in Palau on January 25, 2018 to help her connect and seek advice about life and study in Japan.
Two recent Palauan Alumna of the Waseda University, Lalii Remengesau and Villiah Ngirmekur, also attended the dinner hosted by the Japanese Embassy on the same date and shared their experience to Seid.
Embassy of Japan hopes that all graduates of the Japanese Government Scholarship, upon completion of their studies, will return to Palau and contribute to the development of their country.
