HOD transmits 3 bills to Senate

February 3, 2017 (Ngerulmud, Palau) Less than a month into the new government, House of Delegates completes 3 readings on 3 bills and transmits to Senate. [restrict]
Bills include a proposal to amend national procurement law, by increasing the threshold amount required for bidding from $10,000 to $20,000. The proposed bill also changes the procurement officers of the House of Delegates and Senate to Speaker of the House for HOD and Senate President for Senate among other changes.
HB 10-3-1 proposes to require all commercial wireless service providers in Palau to produce and make readily available service coverage maps for consumers. The bill also passed 3rd reading in the House and transmitted to Senate.
Third bill transmitted to Senate proposes to establish a National Day of Interfaith Prayer in the Republic to be announced annually by a Presidential Proclamation
Same bills were introduced in the 9th OEK and were re-introduced in this 10th OEK. 3 members of HOD were absent and did not vote on the final readings of the bills. [/restrict]
