Ghandi Baules confesses to hit-and-run

On August 27, 2019, a hit-and-run incident was reported in Meketii, Koror and a witness and victim were reported when police arrived at the scene. A man fled the scene after collision and wasn’t found by police who was provided with a license and a car description.

The witness had confirmed that the driver struck the victim and sped towards Topside area after collision. The police obtained the Defendants’ name and address but could not locate the defendant when they searched the area.

The man who was later identified as Ghandi Baules went to the police station on September 1st 2019 to confess and give his side of the story. The defendant admitted to being involved in the accident and fleeing the scene.

Ghandi Baules was charged with assault in the second degree and the offense is Class C felony. He was also charged with reckless endangering in the second degree a misdemeanor offense and a failure to stop at the scene of the accident

Defendant was then placed under arrest after confessing to the crime. The Defendant appeared for first initial appearance only and entered a plea of not guilty charges against him. The Defendant having to pay $50.00 bail has to follow the following conditions of turning in his passport to clerk of courts, sign a waiver of extradition and obey all laws appear at all court proceedings in which his presence is required.
