Encouraging the public to continue to take precaution against mosquito-borne diseases, Ministry of Health urges the public to maintain cleanliness around the homes to prevent spawning and growth of mosquito.
It further advises the public to use insect repellents.
Ministry of Health further dispels the belief that the Aedes mosquito carrying dengue virus is found in wetlands or ponds such as those located in Malakal. It says, the types of mosquito carrying the dengue or zika virus are found in trash, bottles, cans or flower pots or even old tires that hold water.
Therefore, MOH urges public to keep areas around the homes clean and free of these potential breeding sites of mosquito that carries the dengue and/or zika virus. [/restrict]
