May 29, 2017 (Ngerulmud, Palau) House of Delegates adopted two resolutions yesterday during their special session removing Delegate Mario Gulibert from the chairmanship of Foreign & Domestic Affairs Committee and Delegate Noah Kemesong of Kayangel State from his chairmanship of House Committee on Commerce and Trade. The action was confirmed by Delegate Mario Gulibert on a phone interview last night. “The resolution basically says that we are not fulfilling our duties and not cooperating. I am not sure what that meant because I’ve been actively working in my committee as well as other committees that I am part of and participating actively in events and functions,” expressed Delegate Gulibert.
Moreover, Delegate Gulibert asserted that this may be politically motivated. “I am not sure what they meant by not cooperating,” he added.
Delegate Kemesong could not be reached for comment. A copy of the resolution could not be obtained prior to printing of this issue.
