Battle of the Champions: Ngaremlengui, KES eye national championship title in January

Emerging champions from each division of the Ministry of Education and the Palau Beach Volleyball Club-hosted indoor tournaments are set to meet this January to clinch the national championship title.

Team Ngaremlengui, led by coach Leewen Shiro, dominated the championship game for the non-central elementary school division while the Koror Elementary School (KES) secured the championship after facing tough opponents under the central school division championship game.

Team Ngaremlengui defended their turf after winning the championship title again for the second time under the non-central school division tournament. Peleliu placed second while Aimeliik came in third.

Koror Elementary School, on the other hand, had to fight through some tough opponents but was able to also defend its title at as the central school volleyball champion.

Jon Peralta was named tournament MVP for the central school tournament.  George B. Harris finished second and Koror “A” finished third.

Maris Stella School and Ibobang elementary school earned the Best Sportsmanship Awards for the two separate divisions.

The two champions, Koror and Ngeremlengui, will meet for the national championship game in January. (PR)
