BADG has new director
The Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs (MCCA) has announced the appointment of the new Director of the Bureau of Ageing, Disability and Gender (BADG), Klouldil Singeo, on April 1.
In her new role, Singeo will direct the implementation of policies for the vulnerable members of the community.
Singeo, under her position, will be responsible for establishing policies and programs for national initiatives addressing the needs of the ageing, disability and the men and women of Palau, including developing programmatic priorities and budgets, conducting program analyses, making policy recommendations, and preparing performance or initiative reports, and other written materials.
“We are fortunate to have Klouldil as our new Director to coordinate and collaborate on the many initiatives of the Ministry,” Community and Cultural Affairs Minister Baklai Temengil Chilton said.
“Klouldil’s experience in public policy and planning, legislative reviews, grants and project management, and community involvement will certainly contribute towards our progress in meeting and achieving our mandate to the community.”
Singeo brings to this position significant experience in policy and planning, including her service as the former Chief of the Division of Gender, Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs.
In her previous role, she was responsible for conducting needs assessments to identify gender needs and to develop programs to address such needs. Additionally, to coordinate with government agencies and key stakeholders in the development of a national gender policy applicable to Palau.
“I am excited to serve in this new position and for the opportunity to work with the public and private sectors, and our local communities on policy and program initiatives for our community,” said Singeo.
“I look forward to working together, pursuing specific goals that will bring tangible results to help meet the growing needs of our community.”
Singeo holds a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
BADG is a national agency, under MCCA that gathers and analyzes information to assist in the overall analysis and formulation of national policies and strategies specific to the Ministry.
Its mission is to direct and coordinate efforts in addressing the welfare of the community, in particular, the elderly, the disabled and gender related challenges.
The office works closely with other ministries and agencies and community stakeholders to achieve these objectives. (PR)
