Four young Palauans availed free education and training at the Taiwan Naval Academy in Zuoying, Kaohsiung, Republic of China (Taiwan).
The four young Palauans namely Francis Tkel, Shandle Techitong, Vincent Abedneko, and Kemdrang Sengebau are taking different courses in the fields of marine science, statistics, etc.
Palau’s ambassador to Taiwan Dilmei Olkeriil told Island Times via messenger that the four students are fully funded by the Taiwan government with no cost on the part of Palau.
While attending the academy, the four young Palauans also receive provisions of meal and monthly stipends and live on the campus.
Under the program, the students will attend the academy for four years. During the first year of their studies, they will be taught the Chinese language and also attend physical training during the summer.
Among the four Palauan students, two are already Juniors, one is a sophomore, and one is a freshman. (Rhealyn C. Pojas)
