2018 Japanese government Scholarships Now Accepting Applications

Applications for three (3) types of Japanese Government Scholarships annually offered in Palau through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) are now available at the Embassy of Japan. These scholarships are offered for Research (Postgraduate), Undergraduate and Specialized Training College Programs. [restrict]

Palauan students interested in applying for these scholarships and were born between April 2, 1996 to April 1, 2001 are eligible to apply for the Undergraduate and Specialized Training College scholarship programs. Those who will graduate high school by March 2018 are also eligible to apply. The Specialized Training College program is a three (3) year study program while the Undergraduate program is for five (5) years. Both programs include a one-year Japanese language study.

The Research (Postgraduate) program funds for education in Japan at the Master’s degree level and requires an applicant to have completed their four (4) years of University level education or will be completed by March 2018. Applicants for this program must be born on or after April 2, 1983.

All three programs are full scholarship programs covering airfare, tuition and monthly stipends.

Applications are available through the Embassy of Japan in Ngerkebesang and the Embassy’s website at http://www.palau.emb-japan.go.jp/itprtop_en/index.html. Guidelines and other information related to each program can also be found on the website. Application deadline for all programs is Thursday, June 15, 2017.
